9/7:
First frame: Nancy: DIRK?! You're Dirk! Toni's old boyfriend! Dirk: No, I'm not. If you aren't Dirk, bub, then I'm Clint Eastwood. Second frame: Nancy: Don't play games with me! I know your voice, Dirk.Dirk: OK. Hi, Mrs. DeGroot. Busted. Nancy's about to go into lecture mode and isn't interested in you playing dumb, Dirk. If I know Nancy, she's gonna call and warn Brad - but chances are he's at work and she'll tell TJ, who will use this situation as an opportunity to ruin things between Brad and Toni so he can grab her on the rebound - he won't tell Brad until his and Dirk's paths cross, Brad confronts TJ about it and quotes Burt Gummer to him ("I feel I was denied critical need-to-know information") before throwing him out. Third (and final) frame: Dirk: You probably think I'm stalking Brad and Toni. Nancy: I wasn't thinking that at all, but now that you say it, I am. All too easy. Dirk would really hold up well under interrogation. "I did it, I'm guilty, I'm sorry!"

LD, Nice seeing you post over at comics.com. Would love to see more from you there.
So is this going to put to bed the Nancy/Toni problems? Is Greg planning to break up our happy couple or even write Toni out entirely? Is that green eyed monster going to tear things apart? Has Nancy been write all along and Toni really is no better than Ms. Toxic Makeup? And, hey, Greg! How long before we know??? |

Off to a bad start, Dirk-o. Very poor choice of words.

9/8:
First frame: Dirk: I'm not stalking, Mrs. DeGroot. My route just happens to include your house. Nancy: Does it also happen to include Brad's? Dirk does sound like he's reformed, but too soon to call. IF (and only IF) he has reformed, I guess he doesn't want to reenact a certain scene from Deliverance anymore. Second frame: Dirk: It's a coincidence. Believe me. Nancy: Dirk, you hit my son, abused Toni, went to jail, AND you lied just now when I asked if you're Dirk. Why should I believe you? Nancy has every right to be suspicious of Dirk's motives - he was a pathological liar and stalker in the past, but for all we know, he's attempting to leave that past behind him and start with a clean slate. All the same, I wouldn't trust him any further than I can throw the Big Mo. Third (and final) frame: Dirk: *Holds up a crucifix* 'Cuz I'm not that Dirk anymore. I'm a new man, see? Nancy: OK, you're wearing jewelry. So what? Dirk's got his work cut out for him if he's gonna convince those he has truly reformed. Chances are Brad wouldn't take his word for anything, Toni's gonna turn her back on him and tell him to go fuck himself, and Nancy's paranoia seems to be coming in handy.

9/9's installment in a nutshell:
Dirk tells Nancy that he'll be by in a week's time, and also to double-check her recyclables because there were some things that didn't belong there. Nancy goes inside and tells Franks, "The creep's back". Frank is thinking of TJ - close, but no cigar. Nancy needs to inform Brad ASAP of the situation and if she gets TJ on the phone, she should NOT tell him a thing because something like that is a golden opportunity for the sleazy con-artist to ruin things between Brad and Toni.

I have a feeling that's going to be Nancy's next move, unless it's saved for next week.
