I heard a couple of days ago that Corazon Aquino, the woman who became President of the Philippines when Ferdinand Marcos was ousted, died from colon cancer recently - she was 67 (give or take a couple years).
I was in 4th grade when Aquino came to power - and I knew about it because I did a report on the Philippines at the time.

Keith Floyd, the renowned and outspoken television chef (famous for swigging more wine than he was putting in the food he was cooking...and one of Munky's favourite TV chefs), has died on Monday night after a heart attack - he was 65. Bizarrely enough, I was talking about "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar.", as it has a dress almost identical to the one I wore for my 50's, 60's, 70's party on Saturday night.
A bad week for celebrity deaths...
I thought I had heard he was sick. However I did see him start a new TV series earlier this year so I thought he was better... I guess not :(

I heard about Swayze's death last night when I accessed my e-mail - my mom wanted me to print out a copy of the obituary of another uncle of mine who died last week.
I saw a couple of movies with Swayze in it - The Outsiders and Tall Tale.

Better late than never...
I just found out that Les Lye, the Canadian actor who played numerous roles (e.g. Ross, Barth) in one of my favorite slime-ridden TV shows, You Can't Do That On Television, died July 21 at the age of 84.
Go HERE (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/24/arts/television/24lye.html) for the obit.
