That was kind of interesting. In the US we had the same tune for "Baseball, Hotdogs, Apple Pie, and Cheverolet". Makes me feel my age though.

Football? There was a great article in the Onion about college football here in the states. It says that the majority of college football fans are WAY too into their favorite teams. I personally liked the part about the 20 year old boys.

Football Princess - You are so right about college football, and sad to say it covers ALL age groups. When the University of Alabama vs. University of Auburn game comes around, my dad and Aunt Mary are at each others' throats (Dad's an Auburn fan, Aunt Mary pulls for the Alabama Crimson Tide).
Also, I live where one particular rivalry clashes once every year. All it means to me is a bunch of imbeciles who can't drive, drink too much, and/or assault fans of the opposing team. When I was working for the Postal Service in years gone by and this game was in the near future, it meant having to listen to the fight songs of University of Florida AND University of Georgia over the intercom at work. There's more hype to the University of Florida vs. University of Georgia game around here than there is to a Jacksonville Jaguars (pro NFL team) game, EVER. And the Jags wonder why their games keep getting blacked out?
The more I hear of the Florida Gators vs. Georgia Bulldogs, the more I'm convinced the city of Jacksonville should've told the NFL to take their expansion franchise and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Hmmm - worrying. Posts in here that I've not seen before, but they've not shown up as new. :???:
