Both were already on, however the spam bots have ways around the original CAPTCHA algorithm used by vBulletin, so I've just moved to re-CAPTCHA.

It is however disappointing as I use Simple Machines Forum on some other sites, and I've never had spam ever, which implies that vBulletin's out of the box verification system is frankly a big pile of steaming poo.

No, there's a certain device in place called "Re-Captcha" which is supposed to be as near to foolproof as possible. Will ask TB what's going on and why they can suddenly get through - it's been pretty good for months now. *sigh* Admin work...

Putting the boards on lock down until TB can work out why they are only now getting through - the RECAPTCHA was doing fine, but for some reason now - it's failing.
