I came to this show hyped up and hoping for a spectacular show - Al and the band did a LOT better!
Songs performed (this may not be the correct order, so bear with me):
Fun Zone (played before Al and the band took the stage)
Polka Face (will be in his upcoming album, Alpocalypse)
You Make Me
You Don't Love Me Anymore (he smashes a guitar at the end just like in the music video)
Smells Like Nirvana
Skipper Dan
You're Pitiful
Dare To Be Stupid (it was prompted by a clip from Transformers Animated - "I am Wreck-Gar. I dare to be stupid!")
CNR
Let Me Be Your Hog
Canadian Idiot
Wanna B Ur Lovr (he went out into the audience for this one)
Medley:
Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies
Whatever You Like
A song about Gilligan's Island (he was dressed like Gilligan)
Confessions Part III
eBay
Gump
Another One Rides the Bus
Ode To a Superhero
Trapped in the Drive-Thru
Bedrock Anthem
Eat It
[/end medley]
Craigslist
Amish Paradise
White & Nerdy
Fat
Cell Phone (Not sure about the title, he urged people to stand up and wave their cell phones (I did that - I made sure to set mine to vibrate long before the show))
The Saga Begins
Yoda
My ears are still ringing from being so close to the stage, I took a good number of pics (they'll be coming up in the Gallery when I can be arsed to post 'em - threaten me or anything like that, and the pics will NOT go up, capische?), and I had a wonderful time.
I'm still laughing about how his outfit changed during You're Pitiful - it went from hooded cloak to gold sparkly shirt & black pants, then the shirt was removed to reveal a lime-green shirt with the words "ATLANTIC RECORDS STILL SUCKS!" By the time the song was over, Al was wearing a Spongebob T-shirt and (get this, the thought of it makes my ribs cave in from laughing so hard) a frilly-looking tutu and fishnet stockings! *Collapses from laughter*
That said...
YOU RULE, AL!! YOU DA MAN!!
10 accordions out of 10, 5 stars, the whole shebang!
:bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad: :bad:
Now you know what to expect when he comes to the UK in December (2 stops so far - Minehead and London), Lotty - here's hoping sales at those two venues are good enough to warrant more stops in the UK!
