...is here! :yip:

Will post pics & stats later. I must say - it's wonderfully quick and very quiet compared to my old one (which was dying anyway).

Happy Happy Joy Joy!!! :pom:

Never mind the pics, let's go for the important stuff. What's it got under the bonnet?? ;)

Computer is an Intel quad-core 2.66 GHz clocked to 3.0, 4GB DDR2, nVidia 8800GTS and Windows 7 64-bit...complete with £120 worth of low noise fans for cooling. Still trying to find the pics. Basically it's a slightly upgraded version that was TB's (which was miles better than what I had)...and TB got a new build for himself.

It's sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet...

Here's TB's...

Nice new system.

I just built myself a new system couple months back.

----
-G.Skill Ripjaws series PC3-12800 (F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL) ram
-AMD Phenom II X4 965 125w quad core AM3 3.4GHz 8MB black edition cpu
-Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P AM3 motherboard
-Seagate Barracuda SATA II 750GB 32MB cache hard drive
-Sapphire Vapor-X Radeon HD 5770 1GB video card
-LG dvd rom
-Corsair TX series 750W PSU
-Antec 300 case
-Corsair H50 cpu water cooler
-Windows 7 - 64bit
----

Cheap system but runs well. Have it overclocked to 3.8GHz.

Been playing Bad Company 2 with all settings set to high and no lag or anything. Love this new system.

Looks purty, Whisp! So long as it works is all that matters, eh?

Yep.

I don't get caught up anymore with all the modding and such as I use to before. I just want an organized case with good air flow that is quiet. Why I spent extra on the Corsair H50 since super quiet along with all the fans in the Antec 300 run on low.

Shiny and impressive. I'm still running Vista 64-bit, but thanks to a lagging student discount, I managed to get a shiny copy of 7 Professional 64-bit for dirt cheap. Still haven't installed it yet because I require a shiny terabyte to move all of my data off before I do a format-upgrade. I remember what happened the LAST time I tried that...

I'm running with a pair of nVidia 9800 GT cards in SLi and a Sound Blaster X-Fi card. Whisp's setup looks like it could tackle mine almost easily (I'm not gonna overclock just yet) and Lotty's looks like it could go toe-to-toe with my currently 17 month old compy.

It's a sweet computer, and renders the graphics quite nicely on WoW now - even handles high def terrain and death effects quite easily. I'm a happy bunny!

I am totally happy with Windows 7 64 bit and the loadup time on my system is about 15 seconds. I went with the ATI card only because it supports DirectX11 while Nvidia cards at that time didn't. Think they still havn't released their dx 11 cards yet although if they did I would have most likely supported nvidia. Not complaining though since this 5770 Vapor-x is a strong card and the Catylist drivers are actually very strong and ATI is on the ball as of late with driver support (example: Bad company 2 came out and there was a load up lag issue and ATI fixed their drivers within like a week for us). Note the vapor x series has a quieter cooler and over clock which I also have a slight overclock running on it through the driver software. As for sound cards I am pretty satisfied with onboard sound as of late and don't need anything fancy. I did try my audigy 2 zs but windows 7 doesnt even detect it lol. Oh well no biggy.

As a final note G.Skill is a new ram company and I have to say their ram is rock solid and very inexpensive. On a similar system to mine I tried some corsair and some mushkin with looser timings both 1600 and they choked since you also have to realize anything past 1333 for ddr 3 on an amd am3 system is actually a slight overclock even though you can set settings to 1600 and use 1600 ram but it all has to be done manually now. Anyways I have been really pleased with this company and their prices are very competitive due to they are a new company merging into the market so get it while its hot and cheap lol.

Bought myself a new mouse and mousepad for Easter. Got a new monitor about a month back and also a new printer scanner. Now I am pondering a cam corder or a new logitech c510 webcam but not sure.

Anyways got an LG W2442PA monitor, 24inch with 2ms. The monitor when I first got it felt big since alot of real estate. Is great for multiple pages open but when I first got it and playing Bad company 2 I had to sit back a bit further so I couls see it all and not have someone snipe me on the one side of the monitor as I am looking at the other side lol. I have gotten use to it though.

For mouse I was looking at the razer brand but I ended up going with the logitech g9x. I upgraded from the mx518. The g9x is a awesome mouse in my opinion and the fact that the scroll wheel has left and right button on it and that I can attach them to a keyboard comand makes switching weapns even faster then scroll wheel or using numbers on keyboard. The weight adding system is cool. I do wish however that I looked at the G500 closer but oh well this one works fine :). As usual for a gaming mouse it has the abilty to change dpi settings on the fly by mouse control along with a bunch of other features I have not mentioned.

For the mousepad I got the Razer Sphex. I knew it was going to be thin but I did not realize so very thing lol. I grabbed this after looking at some reviews on youtube and my old cloth one was peeling and such. Anyways it is ultra thin plastic based mousepad for gamers. The mouse slides easily across it and as soon as I installed it I could feel the difference. I even had to alter my multi dpi settings for the mouse because it registers better on this pad over the cloth. Other good feature of thise mousepad is that it is washable from my understanding. Also, it can be stuck to most desktops because it has like 10o's of suction cup things on the bottom so works great on glass and marble and such. I have a wood desk so I had to add a bit of water on the bottom but it still works. On top of all that it is very inexpensive compared to other mousepads in which I picked this up for $15 cdn. It is considered a desktop skin and it is excellent in my opinion.

Yeah its a nice mousepad. That pad and new mouse brought my scores to like 40 kills and only 5 deaths per round. Already got banned off one server because of whiners thinking I am using hacks lol.

Alright so this is my latest update and going to be the last stuff I probably buy for the next few years. Since silver is at all new highs and such I cashed in some and finished off my desktop. Bought a G110 Logitech keyboard and a C510 logitech webcam. The keyboard is pretty cool. Only one thing I didn't like about it and that the bottom row where the spacebar isn't lowered like most keyboards. When I push the C key to crouch in games my finger rubs agasint the spacebar and it annoys me. Other then that I like the feel of the key press. It is illuminated in which I can have red, purple and blue as colour lighting in which you can use all shades between those colours. I use blue to go with everything else. It has G keys for macros so now my mouse and keyboard can both run macros and pretty much play an rpg for me like trade skills and whatever else. Has media abilities along with built in sound card for headphones and mic to seeprate them from other sound. Also one of my favourite things is the abilty to turn off windows key. Usually I remove that key alltogether from my keyboards but nice to be able to just turn it off. Anyways pretty cool keyboard.

As for the webcam i have only played with it a little but the clarity looks nice. Its a 8 megapixel with 720p but have yet to test it out with somone on msn and such.

Thanks.

Tested the webcam and the quality compared to my old one is pretty good. Was going to test it on msn but my friend has a mac lol and he couldn't accept vid. What a noob :P

I really like the feel of this keyboard and the illimunated keys. Good for me at night since to this day I still can't type. I know I know, what type of tech am I that I can't type ahahahahahaah. The macro keys are fun. I have set up a whole row thus far to open all my programs on my computer that I use and sure makes things quick. I have increased my productivity by 2% lol
