...and LOTS of it - at least 3 to 4 inches deep, and still falling. Most snow I've seen in one place in my lifetime! :) Pics WILL be going up soon ish hopefully. It's amazingly beautiful (if somewhat deadly). Manchester today has ground to a halt.
On the down side, last night I slipped on a bad patch of black ice and came down very heavily as my legs slipped backwards out from under me and I landed face down. Luckily coat and ample...cushioning in the chest region (!) padded my fall, but I still feel like a Mack Truck ran over me today. :awww:
Oh...and the fun didn't end there! TB had to go in to Manchester to do some server maintenance, and had to go to his office near Macclesfield, where he came to rest 4 inches from a brick wall in a snow drift after car figure skating on a patch of ice - AA had to get him out.
THEN...he couldn't get up the driveway...so, at 12.30am we were digging the driveway and chucking down a large packet of cooking salt so he could park off the road (and safely) in the carport. I thought "What the hell", and proceeded to make my 4ft snowman (long overdue - after my 3ft snowman at Crimbo I was content enough...but could not let it pass seeing I was out in it anyway). If you get reports of a madwoman rolling a huge snowball down the street at 1am in the morning in Manchester...that'll be ME then! :silly:
This morning, the neighbours (unable to get to work) are planning a Giant Street Snowball Fight - count me in if THAT happens! (...and yes, there WILL be pics of that too if it does!)
About to rug up and go out and take MANY pics...back in a bit! :yip: :666: :bad:

Just been watching a van dig itself deeper into the snow as it tried to get out of a driveway. He's given up and abandoned it. Think it is half in the way of the road so if anything comes round the corner too fast then he's a goner (as is the car behind him he nearly went into).
Kids still snowfighting outside, and the sound of many shovels on many driveways. Was hurling snowballs up at our bedroom window with TB hurling down insults from the safety of the open (!) window when a young girl went past and kept handing me ammo to chuck at him. He just got the window closed in time! :wicked: :p

Well...the Dr's surgery is closed (I won't be ordering my prescriptions today)...work is closed (I tried to ring and ask what is happening for tomorrow)...nothing is moving here.
If you go HERE (http://www.warrington-worldwide.co.uk/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=3244) you will see some pics of around the area where I work (our shop is on the left of the pic though you can't see it) - there are other snow pics there too. :)

Thank god for central heating is all I can say!

FROZEN BRITAIN - as reported on the BBC News page...
This striking image taken by Nasa's Terra satellite on 7 January shows the UK deep in the clutches of the current cold snap.

An excellent article on previous winters putting things in perspective HERE (http://news.uk.msn.com/uk/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=151647553) on MSN
(with thanks to Lymm Net Forums where I swiped this article from). :)

If I know LF's desire for snow, he'd love that photo for sure.
You'd think the way it was down here this past week that there would be snow down here for the first time since Christmas of '89.

Just had some big fat soft light & fluffy swirling flurries before - perhaps more to come by the looks of it. :mu: We shall see...
Great, round two... another 2 weeks of no news but snow news and arseholes that can't drive faster than 20mph because there is a light dusting on the sidewalk.

Well, today I saw my first snow blizzard - driving down to Porthmadog...and some arsehole dives in front of us before the traffic comes to a juddering halt. We only JUST avoided writing off the front end of the car because the service road was ahead of us, and we slid off sideways onto it. We went to the services, turned around and started heading back to Manchester. :(
However, our mate Chaser (whose wedding we are down here for and is stopping in the same hotel) told us that just past the ridge where the snow was thumping it down was clear.
So, after TB took some time out in the clear, we turned around and managed to get through. Turns out not far down the road from where we had our near miss, a Black Golf had crashed with another car and gone off the road into the trees. Fortunately, it was not OUR black golf, and we are happily enconsed in our Porthmadog hotel room and looking forward to the wedding tomorrow in Portmeirion.I am sure, however, that I shall be freezing my butt off.
As TB said "Bladdy people who plan their weddings for mid February in the deep of bladdy Wales!!"

It's been snowing in Lymm where I work this morning - only a light sprinkle so far, but more predicted to come. Christmas Markets tomorrow should be wonderful if it's dusted with snow. :pom: :yip: :pom:

I was at work today for all of 10 minutes. Just enough time to sign in, sign out and get paid for the entire day!
