Anything regarding Who - in here please! ;)

Just in case you're from another planet, when last we posted (pre-The Big Server Crash of '09)...the new Dr Who is Matt Smith, who has co-starred in a couple of Philip Pullman movies, "Ruby in the Smoke" and "Shadow in the North.

His new companion (who is sat beside him in the pic above) will be Karen Gillan, best known from playing The Soothsayer in Dr Who's "The Fires of Pompeii".

I have a feeling Exile will have a new companion to enjoy!

Mind you, it's a bit different to the official pic... ;)

She's ok...I guess.

I heard the rumour that it was going to be "Cassie" from Skins and THAT had me excited.

Is it too early to nominate the next companion?

Never too early to nominate - I take it that will be Cassie from Skins then? ;)

No; I was actually thinking Effie from Skins. Mmmmmmmmmm.

I have moved on from Skins series 1 and 2.

:bump:

Well, the Christmas/New Year specials were fantastic, with the Dr regeneration leaving me feeling quite sad :( (will miss DT greatly), but...I've seen the preview of the new season (beginning in March/April) and the episodes do look rather tasty! :)

Not sure if outside the UK can see this, but will post the link just in case!

Saturday the 3rd April @ 6.20pm...NEW WHO! :bad: :yip: :bad:

First episode is called "The Eleventh Hour" - Matt Smith has very big boots to fill!

How's this...Australia only three weeks behind the UK?

Eleventh Hour - Ho Hum.

The Beast Below - Classic Who story; loved it.

Matt Smith - So far, so good. Similar to Tennant but doesn't seem to be as introspective as him - that's a good thing.

Karen Gillan - I will never forgive the Dr for not taking Amy away while she was still dressed in the police "kiss o gram" uniform.

Exile, I think a lot of folk won't forgive Amy not being left in that uniform! ;)

About time Australia didn't have to wait ages for the series. In this day and age, there's no excuse really. Glad you're enjoying the series. I am, and getting used to Matt Smith, though I am missing the DT yumminess. :lust:

OMG - WHAT an ending to a series! Yes, Matt Smith HAS delivered. What an amazing series - the story arc woven into the whole series really makes you want to go back to Episode 1 and see what you missed the first time around!

PLUS...there's THIS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF_R5UJGt-g) - Matt Smith & Orbital on stage together at Glastonbury to close the stage with the Doctor Who Theme - total awesomeness!!!

:bad: Seventh geek heaven... :bad:

I think Karen Gillan is hot. That is me though and all I have to say on the matter.

Well, you and Exile share the same taste in companions then! ;)

Bluebottle

I agree too. I also found out recently that she's 5' 11" tall. Her height isn't all that obvious on Doctor Who unless you look hard.

:)

Well he's a long tall streak himself. That makes her half an inch taller than I am. :)

Ten teasers about 'The Impossible Astronaut'

Unless you've been living underground like a Silurian, you're probably aware that the new series of Doctor Who kicks off this Saturday night. Having been given a sneak preview of the first two episodes, our advice is simple - pay attention, expect the unexpected and try not to scream too loudly! Our week of treats in the build-up to episode one continues now with our traditional ten tantalising teasers for 'The Impossible Astronaut'! And keep an eye out tomorrow for an exclusive chat with the Who crew - Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill!

1. The rumours are true - one of the lead characters really does die. It's not a trick. And it happens within the first ten minutes.

2. When we first see the Doctor, he's in a… compromising position.

3. For Amy and Rory, it's been a while since the events of A Christmas Carol. And for The Doctor? Possibly even longer.

4. The Doctor gets slapped, again.

5. "The legs, the nose and Mrs. Robinson."

6. Amy reveals a shocking secret, but is keeping another from The Doctor.

7. The Doctor drinks wine, and isn't a fan.

8. "River, make it blue again!"

9. One character makes a Star Trek reference. Several times.

10. "You will tell the Doctor what he **** ****, and what he **** ***** ****."

Comments anyone?
