The adventuring duo of a lombax and small robot returns once again - this time back to the galaxy where the first Ratchet & Clank adventure took place.

After seeing a report about a Tyrranhoid attack on Ratchet's home planet of Veldin, Ratchet and Clank make tracks to help out any way they can. Once the attack is stopped cold, Ratchet has a new mission - find Captain Qwark. Yes, the same Captain Qwark who was on Chairman Drek's payroll in the first one, and the same one who kidnapped Abercrombie Fizzwidget, assumed his identity, and tried to make it sound like the Protopet fiasco was all Ratchet's fault but it backfired on him.

Upon finding Captain Qwark, Ratchet is directed over to the Starship Phoenix and Qwark is put in a cage for the time being - Qwark lost his memory. From there, the adventure unfolds. It turns out one of Qwark's old enemies, Dr. Nefarious, has returned. Nefarious intends to turn every organic lifeform (or "Squishies" as he prefers to call 'em) into robots.

Changes from the previous R&C games:

Weapons can be powered-up through repeated use in stages. For example, one of the first weapons you get, the Nitro Launcher (more like a big grenade) powers up in stages (things like larger explosions, acid/electrical modifications) until it becomes the Nitro Eruptor. Powering up is a bit of a pain, but well worth it later on.

If you have a save game from the first Ratchet & Clank, you get a 10% discount off of weapons and gadgets from the Gadgetron vendors.

If you have a save game from Ratchet & Clank Going Commando, all weapons from Megacorp (obtained through Slim Cognito hiding out somewhere) are free (and that's a good thing because late in the game, weapons cost you a ton of Bolts).

Online gaming is enabled (not like I care, actually).

You get to make use of a couple of vehicles along the way (a hovercraft for one, another thing called the Turboslider).

Deathcourses are among the challenges put in, along with arena combat.

Some areas - you have to help the Galactic Rangers fend off Tyrannhoid attacks in stages, and you get certain gadgets and/or a good number of Bolts when the stage is completed.

Collectibles - trophies and Titanium Bolts. You use the Titanium Bolts to buy new skins (i.e. Ratchet's old outfit from R&C 1, a break-dancing robot) and the trophies are for bragging rights (I guess - I haven't played through yet).

Overall, I would rate R&C Up Your Arsenal 9 out of 10. It's an engrossing game - I should know because when I get into it, I lose track of time until a few hours later.
