This one was done by LF in 2007...
Okay, how can I go about this?
Well, might as well delve straight in. You play as the spiky-haired protagonist, Phoenix Wright - a greenhorn Defense Attorney whose skills were derived from fellow defense attorney and mentor Mia Fey.
There are five missions total in this game - the first two being along the lines of training missions... the last three tests of your skill, the fifth being the hardest.
Some history of this game - it was originaly a GBA title in Japan, released in 2001 as Gyakuten Saiban, and only included the first four missions. In 2005, a fifth mission was added along with numerous "add-on functionalities" that utilized the DS's full hardware array (microphone, touch screen, dual screens, etc.) That 2005 version is what was released here in the states as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.
Your mission is thus: find your client innocent. How you do this is based on a combination of investigation skills (yes, you get to play Private Detective), and your ability to hold up your legal tactics in court. In the fourth and fifth missions, both play incredibly difficult roles. The ability to get from one place to the next may even allow you to piece together what really happened and the ability to reconstruct the crime. Whereas, your wit is most needed in the courtroom, where every action you make can have a VERY serious backlash.
Music: 10 out of 10 - nothing spells AWESOME like the "cornered" music when you're finding contradictions in testimonies.
Sound: 10 out of 10 - the amount of time these guys put into doing the sound effects, especially the voices must've taken HOURS to properly do.
Difficulty: 10 out of 10 - my god... you want hard? Try beating mission five - it took me days to piece everything together, and to get the proper person convicted.
Characters: 10 out of 10 - Each and every character leaves a very solid impression on you - some just doing their job - others being haughty and manipulative - others being friendly but shrouded in the shadows at the same time. They really worked unusually hard to manage this.
Total - 40 out of 40. What can I say? It's literally one of the best DS titles I've played. Then again, I don't have many, however, this cult icon is definitively worth it. No matter what happens, you just want to go through it again and again and again - just to see what would happen if you did anything differently - some things might not change. Others may change drastically. It's all up to the choices you make.
