Another LF review for us from 2005...
Well, there isn't a whole lot to start out with, so I'll just delve into it -
Your name is Ryudo - a Geohound, also known as a mercinary for hire. You've lived this lifestyle since you were kicked out of your hometown because your brother, Melfice, went completely insane and started slaughtering people - and somehow they blamed you. You had just finished a job from a rather annoying client who thinks that Geohounds are the scum of the Earth, and now you had a new client - the Church of Granas needed you to act as a bodyguard for one of their songstresses. Some weird shit happened in a forbidden tower a long ways away, and you needed to get her there to purify the area. This is only the start of an unbelievably long journey.
Story: 9 out of 10 - Not bad, I found it kinda twisty and turny.
Controls: 10 out of 10 - Easy as sin.
Music: 9.5 out of 10 - I especially loved the in-fight music.
Sounds and Voices: 6.5 out of 10 - This is where it falls, because sometimes the sampling just sucked ass. (I played the PS2 version, I heard that the Dreamcast version was better.)
Visuals: 7 out of 10 - I hated the fact that they tried to splice 3D objects with 2D backgrounds, scenes, whatever and it just looked really bad. Still, I will admit a number of the techniques, like Sky Dragon Slash was pretty awesome.
Ending: 5 out of 10 - It was just sappy as all Hell, although a few parts of it were sort of humorous.
Replayability: 0 out of 10 - There's literally no reason to play it again, unless you didn't master all the skills, techniques, little books, etc. and wanted the final battles to go just a little easier.
OVERALL: 7 out of 10 - The lack of replayability just freakin' killed this thing, although the ending did a real beating on it too.
