A terrible war, called the "Great Destroyer," drives the human race from the face of the Earth, and forces it to seek refuge underground. This subterranean civilization is now 50 years old.
The concept of a "nation" no longer exists. Corporations have supplanted nations, and battles between them have been waged continually, with no end in sight. Everything is controlled by the coporations -- everything but the Ravens, that is.
The Ravens are mercenaries who undertake missions for credits, but who side with no one.
This tradiion began with a request, which was communicated to a Raven who operated out of Isaac City, the largest urban complex in the world, in the usual way, through the Ravens' Nest network. But several aspects of this request were very unusual.
First of all, the request specified a Raven by name. The normal procedure involved sending a commission to the network, to which all Ravens have access. But this request was transmitted directly to the terminal belonging to the Raven who was named in the request. Another strange aspect was the utter simplicity of the request, which was, at the same time, extremely vague.
"Infiltrate the underground urban complex, Amber Crown."
That was the request in its entirety. The sender's name did not appear on the request, but the monetary reward was enormous. It was obvious for several reasons, mainly the size of the reward offered, that this was going to be a very dangerous mission. But this was nothing new to the Ravens, who were accustomed to living side-by-side with danger.
With the huge advance that he had been paid, and his favorite AC, the Raven who had recieved the request headed off in the direction of Amber Crown.
This takes place in yet another area - where you are forced to deal with different competing companies for economic and political dominance.
It's a different series of missions, there are new parts (including new hidden ones), and a new function: THE ARENA.
Now you can fight against a series of Ravens in one-on-one battles for a chance at dominance over the Arena.
However, not all is well - there is a certain person aware of a VERY special project... something so immensly powerful, that it could make the Plus project look like very old news. That project is "Project: Phantasma." And in the end...you'll have to take it on.
